Lyrics of "Hound Dog"

You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time.
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time.
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.

Well they said you was high classed
Well, that was just a lie.
Yeah they said you was high classed
Well, that was just a lie.
Yeah, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.

You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time.
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time.
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.

Well they said you was high classed
Well, that was just a lie.
Yeah they said you was high classed
Well, that was just a lie.
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.

Well they said you was high classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
You know they said you was high classed
Well, that was just a lie.
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine.

You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time.
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time.
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
You ain’t no friend of mine.

Artist Biography

Elvis Presley

Elvis Aaron Presley was the initial real rock and roll star and undoubtedly its king. He is repeatedly referred as “the King”, and was an American musician, singer and an actor.

He sang blues tied with country, and country tied with gospel and performed with a natural hip-rotating sexuality that made him a teen icon and an exemplar for age groups of cool mutineers.

Elvis Presley initiated his career as foremost performer of rockabilly, an up-beat combination of country and rhythm and blues with a sturdy back beat. He became extensively popular for his narrative versions of existing songs which had mixed 'black' and 'white' sounds and also his extrovert stage and television shows.

Elvis began his career in 1954, followed by his signing with RCA Victor, instantly after which he gave his first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel” in 1956. “Hound Dog,” song which had early versions was reconstructed by Elvis in 1956 turned out to be the best known version. It was the best-selling single of 1950s.

In 1960s, Presley made majority of his thirty-three movies chiefly; inadequately, assessing pieces of music. His single, “It’s Now Or Never"(1960) is one of the best selling singles of all times. Later in 1970, he seriously celebrated his return to live music, followed by shows in Las Vegas and across the U.S. All through his career, he set records for concert attendance, television ratings and recordings sales and became the best-selling and most eminent artists in the history of popular music. He died in at the age of 42, traumatizing his fans worldwide.

Presley was nominated for 14 competitive Grammys, out of which he won three times, and achieved the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36. He has been placed ceremoniously into four music halls of fame. Presley was also ranked #2 on VH1's 100 Sexiest Artists whereas #8 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Rock & Roll. As tracked by Billboard, his chart performance is unequalled, with 149 charting pop singles: 114 Top 40, 40 Top 10, and 18 #1songs. Rolling Stone voted him the 3rd Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Artist of all time.
